Ed Brandt
Over the last 30 plus years, Ed has led congregations ranging in sizes from 50 to 2200. During that time, he led six capital campaigns to expand facilities due to growth and need. He also followed pastors who left a complete mess of the church via poor leadership and varieties of malfeasance.
Ed also resuscitated churches on the verge of decline and led restoration adding two services, growing membership, and increasing connections to the life of worship, mission, and education.
He continues to keep current on trends and trials in the 21st century regarding clergy performance, clergy relationships to governing bodies, and leadership development.
In his own view, too many pastors are retreating and are afraid to lead in turbulent times due to fear or insecurities. As a retired Brigadier General in the US Army, Ed brings a strategic understanding to pastoral leadership and the long view in governing and planting seeds for a congregation’s growth.
How We Can Help
Helping Over Hurdles
Ed will take time to listen to governing bodies and clergy to help them discern want from need. He will bring a fresh outlook to ministry to help clergy and elected leaders overcome the hurdles of fear and frustation to race forward with the love of God.
Putting Challenges in Perspective
Ed will help clergy and elected leaders reframe the challenges before them. So many churches never think big enough when planning to serve the community. Having served congregation in rural, urban, and suburban settings, Ed is keenly aware of the unique challenges each ministry setting provides. So much of life is looking at the glass half-empty, when God promises that cups will overflow!
Solving Funding Challenges
Advance fundraising by assessing the congregation’s needs and preferences, fostering a sense of ownership and involvement in the church’s direction. This engagement can lead to a more vibrant and united community.
